My favorite picture ever.

Or at least my favorite picture to date.

Thought I'd share.

A little behind...

Wow! Time flies when you don't sleep much :)

Things have been rolling along pretty smoothly here. I am recovering from surgery nicely, and have been given the green light to drive again. Russell is gaining weight like a champion (averaging 48 grams a day, which is 1.5x a 'healthy' gain). He weighed 9 lbs 4 oz on Tuesday.

Last weekend Russell's grandparents (Georgi) and uncle Geoff came down to visit. On Friday, Geoff, Justin, Ann and Howard played tennis, while I knit and Russell slept in the grass.

On Saturday, we went out to the east end and visited some wineries for wine tastings. It was our first real day out of the house all day, and was fairly successful. Then Russell stayed home with his very first babysitter while we went out to dinner. I can't say I was a saint, but I did handle it pretty well, all things considered.

We all had a great time, and the Georgis were all enchanted by the new addition to the family.

New blog title?

Somehow, given that our little one arrived 12 days ago, the blog title seems inappropriate now. However, despite my attempts, I have not come up with one I like to replace it.

So, I put it to you faithful readers, to make suggestions. You may post them either in the comments, or send them to me directly by email. You have at least a week - probably more the way I get around to things these days.

I, of course, get final say. But I am curious to know what you all think.

And, it goes without saying, more baby cuteness:

Russell's first bath

Friday night Russell got his first sponge bath, much to his dismay (he hates being cold or wet.) Some photo evidence:

Wrapped in his alligator towel to stay warm.

Having his face washed.

And my favorite - being super cute afterward.

How did I carry all that weight?

So today we went for a walk around the complex, it is so lovely out. Instead of pushing a stroller though, I used it as a practice run with the Moby Wrap (our baby wrap/sling). He was very happy all the way around the complex, but good god was I tired by the time we hit the apartment again.

I can't help but wonder how (just last week) I carried him +/- 10 lbs of 'other weight' that I lost in delivery. I cannot wait to have my stamina back up.

Pic of the day:

Look - already a Red Sox Fan! The thumbs up was all him - we didn't even notice until hours after the picture was taken. Looks like being born on Long Island doesn't automatically make you a Yankees fan. Good to know.

RMG pic of the day

(taken June 9th - 3 days old)

Yep, he's still cute.

For today's "mega-milestone" he puked on me for the first time today. Not really earth shattering, but quite exciting in it's own way.

Welcome to the world Russell Martin Georgi

Russell Martin Georgi was born on Friday, June 6th at 12:17 pm. Both mom and babe are home and settling in. (Mom with the aid of some drugs to help out with pain) Since I have a gazillion pictures, I will be posting fairly regularly in the next few days/weeks, but I thought I'd make up for my delinquency by posting the following:

RMG video 6/10/8

(Blogger and I aren't getting along at the moment, the link to photobucket is temporary)

Is he not the cutest baby in the whole wide world?

Yes - that is a redsox game playing in the background if you can hear the audio. :)

Yay for new babies.

No news is...still more waiting.

Maybe that's not how the old saying goes, but it is certainly how I feel right now. We had another sono yesterday (our 8th) and he's healthy and happy and still upside-down. So we wait until Friday.

Today I start dealing with the slew of things that need to be handled before Justin moves in August. Cars come first. We need to figure out which of the two (if either) car can make the trip across the country, starting with the Toyota. So I made an appointment to have it inspected by our trusted car mechanic. Of course, when I tried to bring it over there...it wouldn't start. Yes, this is the same "car #2" that wouldn't start last time we needed to get it over to the shop. We tried jumping it...to no avail. So now I sit and wait for the tow truck.

While I understand that a large fraction of the problems suffered by this car stem from disuse, what makes us think this car has a chance of making it to Phoenix? We shall see what the repair/inspection holds.

Hippo at the San Diego zoo from our trip out in April. While it is not actually meant to be a commentary about how big I feel right now...you can take it any way you want to.

Random knitting.

I've been sitting around a lot in the evenings trying to keep my (ever more swollen) feet up and relax. Knitting goes well with this (lack of) activity.

I have also been feeling somewhat guilty about buying more yarn before I use what I have - so I dove into my stash and found some leftover yarn from a few of my first projects, and made a kids sweater - see:

It's a "size 2" (whatever the heck that means). I'm calling it my 'Celtics sweater' since it was knit entirely during the Celtics/Pistons series, which is funny since it's green. It must be good luck though - 'cuz the Celtics are going to the finals.

I also FINALLY put the eyes on my monster hat. This is a great knit. I found the pattern at one of my FAVORITE knitting blogs The half assed knit blog:

And fun to wear - too bad one doesn't need warm hats in Phoenix.

Can you tell I'm just killing time between now and Friday?
